Jacques Henri Lartigue
At the Origin of Contemporary Photography
curated by Andrea Busto
MEF is pleased to present, in collaboration with Donation Jacques Henri Lartigue, a retrospective exhibition comprising 186 works of one of the most significant photographers of the 20th century.
The exhibition arises from 130 of Lartigue’s original albums and retraces the evolution of his unique and undisputed talent, which was officially recognised only late in his life, when he was 69 years old.
The exhibition hosts 136 large-size prints and 50 pages from albums dating from 1912 to 1922, which allow the visitor to admire the photographs in their original context.
This selection well symbolizes the history of the 20th century and the origins of contemporary photography.
